ABOUT PASTOR JAMAAL
Pastor Jamaal Francois was born in Dayton, Ohio and raised in Augusta, Georgia. From a young age, Jamaal always had a passion for music and television. Pastor Jamaal was a well-known rapper in his hometown of Augusta, GA before he started preaching. Under the alias “Dubble A”, he was featured on the radio and television in the Central Savannah River area. He won regional awards for Best New Artist and Best Indie Label at the CSRA Hip-Hop & R&B Awards. His song "Jazzy" was nationally charted on a weekly Media base report for the Top 10 Taking off (http://tinyurl.com/dubbleachart ).
Locally, he had done it all, but his purpose was not yet fulfilled.
In an attempt to gain a record deal, Jamaal and his wife took a one-way flight to Los Angeles with only a hundred dollars and a dream. After being homeless for months, they were successful in reaching the ears of an independent record label. A contract was offered to Jamaal, but nearly a year later he decided to legally walk away.
Shortly after he made this decision, he was invited to attend a church service held in a house. This became a life changing experience for him. God began to reshape and mold Jamaal into the pastor and rapper he is today. He now preaches the Word of God and creates music that goes beyond the four walls of the church. Pastor Jamaal is the product of street culture and spiritual consciousness.
